One Killed, Seven Hospitalized after South Los Angeles Accident at Compton Avenue and East 81st Street
South Los Angeles, California (December 9, 2020) – One person was killed and seven other people were hospitalized Wednesday evening in a traffic accident in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area near South Los Angeles, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at around 6:40 p.m. in the area of Compton Avenue and East 81st Street, authorities reported.
According to the authorities, three vehicles collided for unknown reasons at the intersection of Compton Avenue and East 81st Street.
Deadly Crash near South Los Angeles
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene to provide medical aid to the parties involved. One person was pronounced dead at the scene while seven other people were transported to a local hospital, three of them with critical injuries.
The names of the deceased victim and the injured parties have not been disclosed.
Compton Avenue and East 81st Street were closed for cleanup and the investigation.
