1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 in Tulare County
Woodville Woman Killed, One Hospitalized after Tulare County Car Crash on Highway 99 near Avenue 152
Tulare County, California (January 8, 2021) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured Thursday night in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Tipton, Tulare County, a local news source reported.
According to the local news source, the deadly crash occurred a little after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, January 7, on Highway 99 near the Avenue 152 turnoff.
A truck, driven by a 19-year-old Woodville woman, was heading northbound on Highway 99 when, for unknown reasons, the truck drifted to the right and spun out, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck then struck a tree and crashed into a brick wall on the shoulder.
Deadly Crash on Highway 99 in Tulare County
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while her 20-year-old passenger, also from Woodville, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released pending notification of her family.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
