Yreka, California (January 22, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle Thursday evening in Yreka, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21, on South Main Street near the Valero gas station, authorities reported.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian, a 70-year-old resident of Yreka, was attempting to cross the street and was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 43-year-old woman from Siskiyou County, was not injured in the crash.
