Santa Rosa, California (January 22, 2021) – A girl was hospitalized with serious injuries after being involved in a pedestrian accident on January 20 in Santa Rosa, a local news source reported.

The collision took place in the area of North Dutton Avenue and Decker Street at about 4 p.m.

The accident happened when a mother was picking up her 2-year-old daughter from daycare before the kid pulled away from her and ran towards the street. The girl then ran into the highway from in between two parked vehicles, where she was hit by a car traveling North on Dutton Avenue.

Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the authorities’ investigation.

Girl Suffers Serious Injuries after being Struck by Vehicle in Santa Rosa

The pedestrian was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital before she was transferred to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland for treatment of serious injuries. Officials said the patient is in stable condition, and she is expected to survive.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
