Yesenia Aguilar ID’d as Pregnant Woman Killed in Anaheim Pedestrian Accident at Katella Avenue and Bayless Street

Anaheim, California (August 12, 2020) – Authorities have identified the pregnant woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Anaheim as Yesenia Lisette Aguilar, 23, of Anaheim.
The fatal pedestrian crash happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, at the intersection of Katella Avenue and Bayless Street.
Police said Courtney Pandolfi, 40, of Garden Grove, was driving her Jeep SUV when she reportedly lost control of the car and drove up on the curb, hitting the pregnant woman, who was walking on the sidewalk her husband.
Aguilar, who was 35 weeks pregnant, was taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her baby was delivered by cesarean section and was hospitalized in critical condition.
Pandolfi sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. She was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, vehicular manslaughter and driving on a suspended license.
Pandolf was being held on $1 million bail.
The crash remains under investigation.
