Man Killed, 3 Hospitalized in Orange Wrong-Way Crash on 241 Toll Road

Orange, California (August 7, 2020) – A wrong-way driver triggered a multi-car crash Thursday night on 241 Toll Road in Orange. That driver died in the crash, and three others were hospitalized.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a 72-year-old Gardena man was driving a Toyota Camry north in the southbound lanes near East Santiago Canyon Road when the crash happened.
Authorities said at about 11:10 p.m., the Camry hit a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck had attempted to get out of the car’s way but was unsuccessful. The truck then crashed into a Chevrolet Camaro.

As per the report, the Gardena man was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 19-year-old man, was hospitalized with major injuries. His two passengers, an 18-year-old man, and a 19-year-old woman, were also hospitalized with unspecified injuries. All occupants of the truck were residents of Corona.
The 19-year-old man driving the Camaro, and his 23-year-old passenger, both from Riverside, were not injured.
Officers said they have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as possible factors contributing to the accident.
CHP is investigating the collision.
