Santa Ana, California (July 3, 2020) – A man has been arrested after a suspected hit-and-run car accident that killed a woman’s unborn child in Santa Ana, Orange County, last week Friday.

The accident happened in the area of First and Lacy streets at about 9:46 a.m. June 26, according to the California Highway Patrol.

27-year-old Joel Giovanni Andalon was allegedly driving a car that collided with a second vehicle in unclear circumstances.

An 8-month pregnant woman in one of the cars was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital where she underwent an emergency C-section.

Man Arrested after Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Orange County

Sadly, the unidentified woman’s unborn baby was killed in the accident.

Adalon fled the scene of the accident but was arrested on Thursday and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
