Selma, California (July 3, 2021) – A suspect was arrested following a hit-and-run collision that injured a pedestrian in the area of Whitson Street and Floral Avenue in Selma on Saturday morning, according to police.

The crash happened at around 8:40 a.m. when a 23-year-old woman was hit by a truck that fled from the scene after the incident.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

With the help of tips from the community, police tracked down the suspect and located a vehicle believed to be involved in the accident in the area of Howard and Northhill streets. The truck had damage to its hood and grill.

Police arrested the vehicle’s owner, Pablo Vasquez, 30, on suspicion of hit-and-run and booked him into the Fresno County Jail.

The incident is under investigation.
