Lucerne Valley, California (June 22, 2021) – A woman was airlifted to a trauma center following a Tuesday morning traffic collision in Lucerne Valley,  according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 10:17 a.m. on State Highway 18 near Buena Vista Road.

The CHP said three vehicles collided for unknown reasons on State Highway 18.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the injured woman with difficulty breathing. She was airlifted to an out-of-area trauma center in unknown condition.

The State Highway 18 was closed in both directions while the investigation and cleanup took place.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
