Wayne Sanders ID’d as Man Killed in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on Grand Avenue at Wildwood Avenue
Oakland, California (December 19, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who struck and killed by a vehicle last week Thursday in the Grand Lake neighborhood of Oakland as Wayne Sanders, 69.
The deadly accident happened at around 5:36 p.m. Thursday, December 10, in the 3700 block of Grand Avenue at Wildwood Avenue.
Authorities said Sanders was walking across the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle that was heading southbound on Grand Avenue.
Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Accident in Grand Lake
Paramedics responded to the scene and performed CPR on Sanders. He was then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The female driver of the involved vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
Traffic at Wildwood and Weldon avenues was blocked for at least an hour due to the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
