Visalia Woman Critically Hurt in Kings County Fire Truck Crash on Highway 198 in Hanford
38-Year-Old Visalia Woman Injured in Hanford Truck Accident on Highway 198 and 6th Avenue
Hanford, California (June 7, 2019) – A 38-year-old woman sustained major injuries in a traffic crash that involved a fire truck and a car in Hanford Thursday morning, according to a report by the CHP.
The wreck took place shortly before 11:08 a.m. June 6, at Highway 198 and 6th Avenue.
CHP said freightliner traveling eastbound SR 198 when it approached the scene of a fire and tried to slow down to drift to the left side. A 38-year-old Visalia woman driving a white Saturn SUV eastbound attempted to pass the freightliner and clipped the back of a Kings County fire engine parked on the roadside.
Due to the impact, the SUV rotated back into the path of the big rig and was hit by the freightliner.
Woman Hospitalized after Hanford Truck Accident
The woman driving the Saturn sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was taken to Adventist in Hanford hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under investigation.
