Visalia, CA: Major Injury DUI Crash on Avenue 300
Driver, Passenger Seriously Injured in Visalia Collision on Avenue 300 near State Route 245

Visalia, California (July 28, 2021) – A driver and their passenger were seriously injured late Saturday night in an alleged DUI crash in Visalia, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, July 24, the CHP officers responded to Avenue 300, just east of State Route 245, to investigate the report of a traffic collision.
Upon arrival, they determined that a 14-year-old boy was driving a Chrysler 300 eastbound on Avenue 300 when, for unknown reasons, he swerved to the left and drifted off the roadway.
The Chrysler then struck several saplings and slammed into a large fuel tank containing a mixture of gasoline and oil.

The driver of the Chrysler and his 14-year-old male front passenger were transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center with major injuries. A third passenger, also a 14-year-old boy, did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities later determined that the Chrysler driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. The motorist was placed under arrest for felony DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
