Tulare County, California (June 30, 2021) – Victor Gonzalez-Avalos, 31, from Fresno, has been identified as one of the four parties who were injured in a wrong-way traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Tulare County, authorities said.

The major injury accident occurred at about 3:19 a.m. on Highway 99, south of Avenue 184.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Byron Camacho-Najera, 31, of Anaheim, was driving a 2021 BMW and traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 northbound in the number one lane.

Unfortunately, the BMW reportedly collided with a 2007 Dodge, driven by Victor Gonzalez-Avalos, 31, from Fresno, that was traveling northbound on Highway 99 northbound in the number one lane.

Camacho-Najera and his passenger sustained major injuries in the accident. Camacho-Najera and his passenger suffered minor injuries.

Intoxication was suspected of having played a role in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
