Man Seriously Injured in Scooter Accident on Cypress Avenue in North Park

North Park, California (June 30, 2021) – A 20-year-old man was seriously injured in a Tuesday night scooter accident in North Park, authorities said.

The major injury accident transpired at about 10:55 p.m., on June 29, on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard, east of Highway 163.

According to the police, a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, driven by a 62-year-old man, entered westbound Cypress Avenue without yielding. 

Unfortunately, the SUV reportedly collided with a motorized scooter operated by the 20-year-old man, who was headed southbound in the eastbound lane of Park Boulevard.

Major Injury Scooter Accident on Cypress Avenue

The 20-year-old man sustained a fractured skull, a broken rib, and contusions on both lungs. He was hospitalized for treatment.

The driver of the SUV, who was not injured, remained at the scene.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
