Colusa County, California (July 13, 2021) – Vicky Davis, 40, of Orland, was among four people who were injured after being involved in a deadly head-on collision in Williams, Colusa County, according to the California Highway Patrol,

The crash happened at around 7:55 p.m. Sunday, July 11, on Highway 20, just east of Highway 16.

The CHP said a 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup was speeding westbound on Highway 20 when it crossed over the solid double-yellow lines into the opposite lane, directly into the path of a 2017 Dodge Durango that was heading eastbound.

The driver of the Dodge Durango swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid the collision, but ended up colliding head-on with the Toyota Tacoma.

The impact caused the Toyota’s left front door to detach.

Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 20 in Colusa County

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, a 57-year-old Clearlake man, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Davis, who was riding as a passenger in the Dodge Durango, was airlifted to Kaiser Vacaville Hospital with major injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Durango and two other passengers, a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, were transported airlifted to UC Davis with moderate injuries.

Alcohol or drugs were considered a factor in the collision.

Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
