Woman Killed in Ventura Train Accident near Emma Wood State Beach

Ventura, California (August 25, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a Union Pacific train Monday afternoon in Ventura, according to authorities.
The fatal pedestrian occurred shortly before 1:15 p.m. Monday, August 24, near Emma Wood State Beach and just north of the Ventura city limits.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian, only identified as an adult woman, was hit by the train while he was taking photos for the beach and had earphones.

The pedestrian was declared at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No injuries were reported on the train.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
