Man Killed in Vacaville Pedestrian Accident on Highway 80 near Alamo Drive

Vacaville, California (February 14, 2019) – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a big rig Wednesday morning in Vacaville, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 13 on Interstate 80, just east of Alamo Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Martin Ponce, 54, of Daly City was driving an International truck/trailer combination on eastbound Interstate 80 when he reportedly saw the man walking ahead of him but was unable to stop and hit the victim.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
Ponce remained at the scene of the collision and cooperated with the authorities.
