47-Year-Old Brookdale Man Killed in Santa Cruz Mountains Pedestrian Accident

Santa Cruz Mountains, California (February 14, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck Tuesday afternoon in unincorporated Brookdale in Santa Cruz County, authorities said.
The deadly accident was reported at around 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, February 12 near the intersection of Highway 9 and Larkspur Street.
The pedestrian, only identified as a 47-year-old Brookdale man, was lying on the roadway when a 57-year-old Brookdale man driving a 2010 Ford F-350 did not see him in time to stop and drove over him.
The 47-year-old Brookdale man was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of his relatives.
The driver of the Ford stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.
No other details were immediately available. An investigation into the crash is underway.
