Vacaville, CA: Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate Highway 80
1 Dead, 1 Injured in Vacaville DUI Car Crash on Interstate Highway 80 near Interstate Highway 505; Wrong-Way Driver Arrested
Vacaville, California (January 26, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured early Saturday morning in an alleged DUI crash in Vacaville, according to authorities.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car accident was reported at around 1:28 a.m. on eastbound I-80, near the Vacaville Premium Outlets and the junction of Interstate Highway 505.
Details are extremely limited at this time and it’s unknown what caused the crash.
A man driving the wrong way and the driver of the other vehicle were both transported to the hospital. But a passenger in the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased has not been disclosed pending identification and notification of family.
No other injuries were reported.
Alcohol was a factor in the accident, authorities said. The unidentified wrong-way driver was arrested suspicion of driving under the influence.
