19-year-old Uriel Lopez ID’d Man Killed in Kingsburg Crash on Road 44 and Avenue 376

Kingsbury, California (March 3, 2019) – Police have identified the driver killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday night in Kingsburg as Uriel Sanchez Lopez, 19, of Salma.
The incident was reported around 6:40 p.m. March 1, at the intersection of Road 44 and Avenue 376 southeast of Kingsburg.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Lopez was driving a Kia Soul east on Avenue 376 and ran a stop sign. A big rig traveling southbound struck the Kia as it was crossing Road 44. The big rig then hit a second vehicle that was heading north on Road 44.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, whose identity was not disclosed, was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia with complaints of pain in her back.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remained under investigation.
