2 Injured in Contra Costa Car Accident on 680 Freeway near Ygnacio Valley Road
Contra Costa, California (March 2, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a car accident in Contra Costa on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on the northbound lanes of Interstate 680 Freeway near Ygnacio Valley Road at about 12:03 p.m.
The authorities who responded to the incident recovered two vehicles at the scene of the accident. Although the manner in which the collision occurred was not immediately established, one of the cars is reported to have overturned following the collision.
Two people are reported to have sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The injuries sustained by one of the victims was described as major.
No other information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
