Sacramento, California (June 18, 2020) – Ulises Emmanuel Briones-Rodriguez, 36, of Sacramento, has been identified as the suspect who was arrested after a Wednesday night motorcycle accident that left a California Highway Patrol officer nursing injuries, according to authorities.
The crash happened at about 9:30 p.m., on June 17, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 Freeway near Auburn Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol said the officer was riding a motorcycle in the area when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle driven by Briones-Rodriguez.

The CHP officer sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Briones-Rodriguez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Following the accident, the roadway was closed for an unknown period.
The crash remains under investigation.
