Twentynine Palms, California (August 25, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Twentynine Palms, according to a press release by the  California Highway Patrol.

The fatal pedestrian crash happened at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday, August 22, on Twentynine Palms Highway.

As per the CHP release, the pedestrian, only identified as a 33-year-old Victorville man,  was attempting to get help for his vehicle that was stuck in the sand.

The Victorville man was standing in the westbound lane of on Twentynine Palms Highway when he was hit by a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by  Jessy Krohn, 20, of Kingman, Arizona.

The pedestrian, whose name was withheld pending notification of the family, was thrown into the eastbound lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
