Tulare County, CA: Fatal Alleged DUI Crash on Highway 198 at Road 248
61-Year-Old Man Killed, 4 Injured in Tulare County Car Accident on Highway 198 at Road 248

Tulare County, California (September 30, 2019) – A person was killed and four other people were injured Sunday evening in an alleged DUI crash in Tulare County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash took place shortly after 5:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 198 at Road 248, just northeast of Lemon Cove.
The CHP said Joshua Scott Young, 37, was driving a Mercedes when he tried to pass slower traffic on the two-lane highway.
However, Young ended up colliding head-on with the Yukon.
A 61-year-old man who was riding as a passenger in the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family or next of kin.
Four occupants of the Yukon, including two children, were transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The CHP believes that Young was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. An investigation into the crash is underway.
