Truckee, California (May 14, 2021) – One person was seriously injured Thursday evening following a traffic accident involving a UTV and a bicyclist in Truckee, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The major injury collision happened just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the intersection of Tom Dolley and Jake Teeter, near the Lahontan Golf Club.

A bicycle collided with a side-by-side vehicle for an undetermined reason at the intersection, the CHP report states.

One patient was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. It was not immediately clear if the victim was the bicycle rider or an occupant of the UTV.

The intersection of Tom Dolley and Jake Teeter was closed following the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation.
