Timothy Sonnenburg Killed in Chico Motorcycle Crash at Forest Avenue and Springfield Drive
Chico, California (February 21, 2020) – 66-year-old Timothy Sonnenburg of Chico has been identified as the man killed after a motorcycle collision on Wednesday afternoon in the area of Chico, according to a local news source.
The fatal accident occurred at the Forest Avenue and Springfield Drive intersection at around 4:00 p.m. February 19.
As per the report, Sonnenburg was riding a motorcycle when a Nissan driving the wrong way crashed head-on into the motorbike. The Nissan, driven by an elderly woman, then crashed into a white sedan and an SUV.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident at Forest Avenue and Springfield Drive
Responding emergency crews rushed Sonnenburg to the hospital with critical injuries. Sadly, Sonnenburg died at the hospital while receiving treatment.
The two motorists sustained minor injuries following the accident.
The southbound traffic from Humboldt Road and Springfield Drive was closed for about six hours to give way to the investigation.
Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors in the collision.
