Thomas Burke Killed in San Diego Bicycle Accident on Beyer Boulevard
Thomas Burke ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in San Diego Crash on Beyer Boulevard
San Diego, California (October 15, 2019) – The bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in San Diego has been identified as Thomas Burke, 67, of San Diego.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, October 9 in the 3000 block of Beyer Boulevard.
Authorities said Burke was riding in the No. 1 lane of the highway when he was rear-ended by a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old man.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took Burke to UCSD Medical Center with multiple injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on Monday, October 14.
The Tacoma driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash.
