Thanh Vu Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on McLaughlin Avenue
Thanh Vu ID’d as Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle on McLaughlin Avenue near East William Court in San Jose
San Jose, California (November 25, 2019) – Thanh Vu, 79, of San Jose, died Saturday of injuries he sustained Thursday morning after a vehicle accidental reversed into him in San Jose.
The deadly accident was reported at around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, November 21 in the 500 block of McLaughlin Avenue near East William Court.
Authorities said an unidentified woman had shifted her car into reverse as she was waiting to make a turn onto McLaughlin Avenue from a residential driveway.
Vu was walking behind the car when the driver accelerated to enter the street, but accidentally went in reverse and hit him.
Vu was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, November 23.
The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
