Two Airlifted after Temecula Car Crash on State Route 371

Temecula, California (February 18, 2020) – Two people were airlifted after a collision between two vehicles on Monday afternoon near Anza, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on State Route 371, approximately 30 miles east of Temecula shortly before 4:35 p.m. February 17.
CHP said a 23-year-old La Quinta man was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer eastbound on State Route 371 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control and collided with an oncoming 2018 Honda Accord driven by a 20-year-old Camp Pendleton man.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and extricated both drivers from their vehicles.
2 Airlifted after Temecula Car Crash
The driver of the Honda was flown to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with major injuries.
The other driver also had major injuries and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
CHP said drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
