Temecula, California (January 24, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized Wednesday night after they were struck by a truck Wednesday night in Temecula, a local news source reported.

As per the article, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassing said the two were hit by the vehicle at about 8:34 p.m. at the intersection of Madigan Street and Morgan Hill Drive.

The accident happened when a 61-year-old woman traveling northbound on Morgan Hills Drive in a 2017 Chevy Silverado was turning left onto westbound Madigan Street.

Lassing said the female driver did not see the pedestrians walking within the crosswalk and hit them.

The pedestrians, both Temecula residents, sustained major injuries and were rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.

The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
