Temecula, CA: Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 79
2 Killed, 3 Injured in Temecula Crash on Highway 79 near Dugan Drive

Temecula, California (December 3, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday afternoon traffic accident that killed two peopled and left three other people injured in Temecula.
The deadly three-vehicle accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 79, just north of Dugan Drive and south of Vail Lake.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 Honda Pilot, driven by a 62-year-old Anza man, was head southbound on the highway when it swerved into the right shoulder and crashed into a rock embankment.
As a result of the collision, the Honda flipped over into the northbound traffic lane where it collided with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, operated by a 62-year-old Aguanga man, the officials said.
Unfortunately, a northbound 2017 Nissan Frontier pickup truck, driven by a 55-year-old Aguanga man, was unable to avoid the collision, and it smashed into the wreckage.

A 56-year-old Anza man, who was a passenger in the Honda, and the driver of the Jeep were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda’s driver sustained major injuries and was taken to Wildomar’s Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Nissan and his passenger were transported to Temecula Valley Hospital with moderate injuries.
Traffic on both sides of the highway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
