Man, Woman Hospitalized after Taft Car Accident at Kern Street and 1st Street

Taft, California (July 25, 2020) – Two people were hospitalized Thursday night after a traffic accident at a Taft intersection, according to a local news source.
The crash involving two vehicles happened shortly before 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at the intersection of Kern Street and 1st Street.
Authorities said a car was heading northbound on 1st Street when it pulled out in front of a Chevrolet SUV that was heading eastbound on Kern Street.
The SUV eventually struck the car on the driver’s side.
Car Accident at Kern Street and 1st Street in Taft Sends 2 Hospital
Two occupants of the car, a man and woman both aged 26, were taken to Bakersfield hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Two other people in the car were not injured.
The female driver of the SUV and his juvenile passengers sustained minor injuries but declined hospitalization.
Police closed the intersection for more than one hour due to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
