Palmdale, California (November 1, 2020) – A 53-year-old Sylmar man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon in Palmdale, authorities said.

At about 1:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly head-on crash on Angeles Forest Highway.

The CHP said a 2007 Ford F-150, driven by Michael Deangelis, 55, of Littlerock, was traveling southbound on the highway, south of Vincent View Road when, for unknown reasons, it swerved left onto the northbound lane.

Unfortunately, the truck collided head-on with a northbound motorcycle operated by the 53-year-old Sylmar man.

Sadly, the Sylmar man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deangelis sustained minor injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.

Traffic on the highway was stopped due to the accident. As of 5:15 p.m., the roadway was reopened.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
