2 Police Officers, 6 Civilians Hospitalized after Sun Valley Hazmat Incident on Lankershim Boulevard

Sun Valley, California (November 13, 2019) – Two police officers and six civilians were hospitalized after being exposed to an unknown substance in the Sun Valley area Monday night, according to a local news source.
At around 10:02 p.m. Monday, November 11, officials received reports of a person down inside the LA Family Housing Center located in the 7800 block of Lankershim Boulevard.
Authorities who responded to the scene made entry and found several people suffering from unknown symptoms after being exposed to an unknown substance.
While investigating two officers from the Los Angeles Police Department also suffered symptoms after being exposed to the material.
Firefighters paramedics treated a total of eight patients at the scene. The victims were then taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
A hazmat team contained the room with the substance as they worked to identify the material.
