Sturgis Asher ID’d as Man Killed in Whitewater Pedestrian Accident on Highway 111 near Interstate 10

Whitewater, California (July 20, 2020) – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner has identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday morning in Whitewater as Sturgis Asher, 27, of Landers.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened around 5:15 a.m. Sunday, July 19, on Highway 111, just south of Interstate 10.
Authorities said Asher was hit by a vehicle in unclear circumstances.

Asher was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5:40 a.m.
Further details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
