Clearlake Oaks, California (July 26, 2021) – Stephen Williams, 37, of Pacifica, was arrested following a DUI crash that left five people injured Saturday in Clearlake Oaks, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision, which involved four vehicles, took place on Highway 20 near the intersection with Sulphur Bank Drive on Saturday, July 24.

The CHP said Williams was driving a Toyota Highlander westbound on Highway 20 at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into the back of a Toyota Prius.

After the impact, the Highlander and the Prius drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee each.

A fourth vehicle became involved in the crash.

5 Injured in Clearlake Oaks Collision on Highway 20

Three Grass Valley women, who were in the Cherokee, were airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center, one with major injuries and two with minor injuries.

The driver of the Prius, an Oakland man, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the fourth vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

Williams was also airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries before being arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No other details regarding the crash were immediately given.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
