12-Year-Old Staphanie Gonzalez ID’d as Girl Killed in Yuba City Multi-Car Crash on Highway 99 near Clark Road
Yuba City, California (July 2, 2019) – The girl who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday afternoon in Yuba City has been identified as Staphanie Gonzalez, 12, of Rocklin, according to the CHP.
The incident took place shortly before 4:30 p.m. June 30, on Highway 99 near Clark Road.
A 24-year-old Live Oak man was driving a Ford F250 southbound on Highway 99 when he slammed into the rear of an Acura Integra. The man was allegedly texting when he failed to see the vehicle in front.
After the rear-end crash, the Ford continued and slammed into a Honda CRV that was in front of the Acura.The Ford then flipped and ejected its driver before coming to rest on its roof.
Two other northbound cars crashed into the wrecked vehicles.

Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver and a second passenger in the Acura were taken to a hospital with major injuries.
Two women riding in another vehicle sustained minor injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
