Woman Killed, 5 Injured in Highway 132 Crash near Hayward Road

Stanislaus County, California (May 20, 2019) – A woman was killed and five other people were injured Sunday afternoon in a fiery traffic accident near La Grange, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19 on Highway 132, just west of the Mariposa County line.
According to the CHP, a Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound on Highway 132, just east of Hayward Road when for an unknown reason it drifted into the westbound lane and was hit by a 2016 Subaru sedan that was traveling westbound.
The force of the impact caused the Nissan to veer off the roadway and burst into flames.

The CHP said the female driver of the Nissan was unable to free herself from her burning vehicle and died at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor injuries while her four passengers, including three small children, were transported to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
