South San Francisco, CA: Major Injury Collision Involving Wrong-Way Driver on 280 Freeway
At Least 1 Seriously Injured in 280 Freeway Crash near Westborough Boulevard in South San Francisco
South San Francisco, California (July 23, 2020) – At least one person suffered major injuries in a traffic collision that happened Wednesday night involving a wrong-way driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.
As per the CHP report, a driver was traveling northbound on southbound 280 Freeway and collided, possibly head-on, with a southbound car near Westborough Boulevard.
South San Francisco Police Department, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene.
The responders found the wrong-way driver still inside their vehicle and were working on getting them out.
As per the CHP report, at least one person sustained major injuries in the accident.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the factors surrounding the collision.
