South Gate, CA: Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Hurt Interstate 710 near Imperial Highway
Woman Seriously Hurt in South Gate Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 710 near Imperial Highway
South Gate, California (October 24, 2019) – A pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 170 in South Gate, as per the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, the accident happened at about 9:19 p.m. on Interstate 710, just north of Imperial Highway.
A female pedestrian was attempting to run across lanes when she was struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle that struck the woman fled away after the crash. First responders found the pedestrian down in No. 2 lane. of the freeway.
The pedestrian was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
According to investigators, another crash involving two vehicles occurred at the scene of the initial accident. However, no one was injured in the second incident.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
