At Least One Sustains Major injuries in Sonoma County Crash on State Highway 12 near East Watmaugh Road

Sonoma County, California (January 14, 2019) – At least one person sustained serious injuries Sunday night in a head-on collision south of the city of Sonoma in unincorporated Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 6:10 p.m. Sunday, January 13 on eastbound State Highway 12 near East Watmaugh Road and involved two vehicles.
Details on how the accident occurred were not immediately available, but the CHP said the driver of one of the two vehicles involved sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
Highway 12 was shut down in both directions from 6:25 p.m. until around 7:45 p.m. while emergency crews worked to clear the crash.
No additional information was immediately provided. The crash remains under investigation.
