Oxnard, California (November 18, 2020) – CHP officer Soenter Avendano, 23, has been identified as one of the three persons who were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon in Oxnard, authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 1:00 p.m., on November 14, at the intersection of Bard Road and Pleasant Valley Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Dodge Charger patrol car was traveling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road when it collided with a Nissan Versa that was traveling eastbound on Bard Road.

The patrol car did not have its lights on at the time of the crash, the officials said.

Soenter Avendano Injured in Oxnard Car Crash

Avendano, who was in the patrol car, and two other parties, a 25-year-old Oxnard man and a 21-year-old Oxnard woman, were taken to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
