Silvia Gonzales Arrested after Deadly Fresno County Accident on Colorado Road at West Sumner Avenue

Fresno County, California (November 7, 2019) – A 42-year-old woman was arrested following a fatal Wednesday afternoon DUI crash that left two people dead in Fresno County, according to a local news source.
The deadly three-car crash took place just after 3:00 p.m. November 6, in the area of Colorado Road at West Sumner Avenue near Tranquillity.
CHP said Silvia Gonzales, 42 was driving a Honda on Colorado Road when she failed to brake and slammed into a Mercedes. The impact caused the Mercedes to spin into the path of oncoming traffic and was hit by a pickup truck.
The Mercedes then burst into flames.
Both passengers in the Mercedes were killed in the crash.

Two occupants of the pickup truck, the 38-year-old driver and a 1-year-old were both taken to a hospital for treatment of minor-to-moderate injuries.
Gonzales was reportedly under the influence of marijuana and another illegal substance. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
