Shell Beach, CA: At least 4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101

Shell Beach, California (February 17, 2019) – At least four people were hurt  on Saturday morning in a six-vehicle collision in Shell Beach, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident was reported just after 8:00 a.m. February 15, in the northbound lanes of Highway 101

As per the CHP report, the collision happened when the driver of a Subaru switched lanes to avoid a crash but struck the passenger side of a Honda Pilot and the driver side of a BMW.

An RTA bus carrying 13 passengers then hit a Honda Fit, causing the vehicle to roll over onto the dirt shoulder. The bus then struck the BMW and caused it to travel down the dirt embankment. The bus also hit a Chevy, pushing that vehicle into the west side guardrail. One of the vehicles landed on its roof and possibly caught fire.

One person sustained major injuries and was hospitalized at Sierra Vista Hospital. Three other victims suffered minor injuries.

The northbound lanes of the highway were closed down but as of 9:45 a.m. they were open.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.

Pacific Attorney Group hopes that those injured in this accident will recover soon.
