Selma, CA: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 99
Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Selma Crash on Highway 99 at Second Avenue Off-Ramp
Selma, California (May 18, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured late Monday night in a traffic collision in Selma, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major injury accident took place on Highway 99 at the Second Avenue exit on Monday, May 17.
CHP said the motorcyclist was traveling on the southbound side of the highway when he was rear-ended by a silver Nissan Maxima. The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact.
The motorcycle was then struck by four other vehicles, including a semi-truck.
Major Injury Motorcycle Accident in Selma
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. His name and condition at this time were unknown.
It is undetermined if the Maxima driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
Police closed southbound Highway 99 for nearly 20 minutes while the investigation and cleanup took place.
The crash remains under investigation.
