Seal Beach, CA: Customer Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Westminster Avenue

Seal Beach, California (February 13, 2019) – An alleged drunk driver was arrested by police Sunday night on suspicion of causing an injury collision at the Chevron gas station in Seal Beach, according to police.

The crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. February 10, at 2950 Westminster Avenue.

As per the police report, James Eric Chang, 44, of Huntington Beach, was heading north on Seal Beach Boulevard when he allegedly lost control of his car and crashed into a gas station located at 2950 Westminster Boulevard. The vehicle struck a customer and slammed into one of the gas pumps, sparking a fire.

The customer suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a hospital by the paramedics.

Chang was arrested and charged with driving under influence of alcohol and causing bodily injuries.

A further investigation into the crash is ongoing.
