Scott Joyce Hospitalized after Lake California Car Crash on River View Drive near Antelope Creek Drive

Lake California, California (March 31, 2021) – Scott Joyce, 26, of Cottonwood, was injured after being involved in a deadly accident Tuesday in Lake California, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place in the 22533 block of River View Drive near Antelope Creek Drive on Tuesday, March 30.
The CHP said a vehicle was speeding northbound on River View Drive when it turned abruptly and struck a tree.
Joyce, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Mercy Medical in unknown condition.
The driver of the vehicle, Jovana Sanchez, 27, of Cottonwood, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, authorities said.
Alcohol was considered a factor in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
