Julia Sanchez Hospitalized After San Diego Scooter Accident near Market and 13th Streets
San Diego, California (July 8, 2021) – 21-year-old Julia Sanchez has been identified as the female party who was injured following a scooter accident at an intersection in San Diego Monday morning, July 5.
The major injury crash took place in the area of Market and 13th Street just after 4:00 a.m.
Sanchez and her 22-year-old friend were riding an electric Bird scooter when they crashed with a white Ford Explorer at the San Diego intersection for unknown reasons.
Julia sustained serious injuries, including a 10-inch laceration following the collision. The scooter rider was attended to by medical personnel before being rushed to an area hospital for further treatment.
As per the report, she will likely require two future knee surgeries in hopes of repairing the damage.

The other victim, also riding the scooter, was hospitalized with multiple fracture injuries after the crash.
The SUV operator escaped the scene before the authorities arrived but was later arrested the same day.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
