Pedestrian Killed in Santa Rosa Crash near Cleveland Avenue and State Farm Drive

Santa Rosa, California (October 19, 2019) – A pedestrian died in a traffic collision that occurred on Friday afternoon in Santa Rosa, according to a police report.
The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. October 18, in the area of Cleveland Avenue and State Farm Drive.
Police said a red Lexus was traveling eastbound on State Farm Drive when the driver turned into southbound Cleveland Avenue. A Subaru traveling southbound on the slow lane of Cleveland Avenue moved into the fast lane to overtake a car that was turning right onto westbound State Farm Drive.
The Subaru then returned into the slow lane and sideswiped the red Lexus. The Subaru continued traveling southbound before the driver lost control and drifted into the sidewalk, where the car hit a pedestrian and crashed into a building.
Person Killed in Santa Rosa Pedestrian Crash
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The driver of the Subaru was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said both drivers are cooperating with the investigators.
The crash closed the intersection for approximately three hours as officials examined the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
