Santa Monica, CA: Diners Injured in Alleged DUI Crash on Main Street

Santa Monica, California (February 14, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Friday night traffic accident that left diners with minor injuries in Santa Monica.

The accident occurred at about 8:00 p.m., on February 12, outside Urth Caffe in the 2300 block of Main Street.

According to the police, a suspected DUI driver of a BMW was headed northbound on Main Street when they crashed into a barricade protecting an outdoor dining area. One of the heavy K-rails was knocked into the dining area, sending tables and chairs flying.

Santa Monica Car Accident Results in Injuries

A few diners suffered minor injuries in the accident. One party was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect DUI driver, Piper Pollard, 21, of Pacific Palisades, sustained moderate injuries in the accident. Pollard was booked for felony DUI.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
